The process of digitalisation achieves a virtual computerised representation of a chosen object, allowing subsequent selective modification, alteration of scale (enlargement/reduction), 3D polychromy, cataloguing etc.

Once this information has been processed (files *.stl, *.step, *.igs, etc.) it can be used to obtain models in different processes of construction (stereolithography in resins, polycarbonates, etc,) and mechanised in CAD.
